January 30, 2007

Among the 2007 additions to the course library of the Winchester Center for Management Development are online MindEdge courses designed to spark personal creativity and improve the performance of team leaders.

The Winchester Center for Management Development ( provides an online forum for courses in business, management, leadership and communications.

MindEdge's Creativity & Innovation program seeks to help unlock the creativity within individuals and organizations. Personal Creativity, the first course in the program, looks to help participants tap into their personal creativity by stimulating their creativity through various techniques (mind mapping, the SCAMPER technique, right and left brain thinking, etc.).

Through the use of selected readings, video and audio clips, Internet interactivity, and simulations, this course highlights the latest thinking on this timely topic and shows strategies and tactics to foster new ideas, new thinking and to open up new personal and commercial opportunities. The course is based on Adrian Brown's new book, Creativity & Innovation.

The Leading Teams course focuses on the leadership challenges faced by those taking responsibility for managing and leading a team. Team leaders must account for the special and unique circumstances of working in a team, where responsibility, accountability, communication and leadership are shared. Leading Teams is designed for those leading teams and faced with the challenges of bringing leadership qualities, skills and styles to bear in a team setting. The course is based on D. Quinn Mills' book, Leadership: How to Lead, How to Live, a text used at Harvard Business School.
